About Reincarnation

Characters can choose to reincarnate once they have at least one advanced level skill. Doing so basically starts you over at character creation. However, you retain an XP bonus for the skills you developed with your original character, increased by how far you trained them.

Benefits of Reincarnation

Reincarnation allows you to:

• Start fresh with a new character while retaining progress bonuses
• Choose a different species if you've built up sufficient reputation with other races
• Apply lessons learned from your previous character to create a more optimized build
• Experience the game from a different perspective

XP Bonuses

When you reincarnate, you receive an XP bonus for skills you developed with your original character. The bonus is increased based on how far you trained each skill. This means that while you start over, you'll progress faster in skills you've already mastered, allowing you to catch up more quickly while exploring new paths.

Species Options

Generally, reincarnation allows you to choose from the standard five playable species. However, if you've built up your reputation with other non-standard sentient species to a high enough extent, you may be able to reincarnate as one of them. This opens up unique gameplay opportunities and character builds that weren't available during your initial character creation.

When to Reincarnate

Reincarnation is an option for those who have gotten far in a skill they like, but realize they'd rather be a different species. It's also useful if you want to explore a completely different playstyle or if you've discovered that your current species doesn't align with your preferred gameplay approach. The XP bonuses ensure that your time investment isn't lost, making reincarnation a viable option for players who want to refine their character concept.
